Dad was at the Burien Market today and he ran into my cousin.
Well, okay, he’s not my real cousin, but he looks a lot like me. He was caged at the Burien Market for display to all the people walking around. Must have been quite warm in all that black fur. Trust me, I know.
He is up for adoption by C.A.R.E.S. (Community Animal Resource & Education Society). He doesn’t even have a name yet!! What is wrong with these people. Cats need names, if dad didn’t call me Mr. Kitty I don’t know how else I would ignore him!
He is a loving kitty and very curious. Dad says he was licking and chewing on his fingers and attacking the blowing papers that were near his cage.
Locked behind bars!!
I mean, I used to be curious at one time, now I am more curious about what the backs of my eyelids look like and what interesting patterns I can shed into dad’s pillow.
He doesn’t even have a NAME!! He is in this book they have there for adopting the animals and they have him listed as Kitty 4!! How amazing would it be to give him a name! Now, do I want him in my home? No, no, no!! He may try to take up room on my pillow or eat my food! Call me selfish, but mom and dad have been taking care of me for 15 years now and I don’t need any cute competition. Next thing you know, I am no longer being fed and getting locked outside all the time. We can’t have that at all!
Now, these two creatures were given names. Seriously, how inhumane is that, name the dogs yet the cat shall remain nameless!!
These two are Lizzy and Mikey. I think it is some kind of conspiracy. Naming the dog after dad. If dog’s are your thing (for me, they are not) These dogs are up for adoption as well. They are chihuahuas. Don’t even ask me how I know how to spell that. Dad says they were both very playful as well and were rescued from a puppy mill. Why anyone would want a mill that churns out puppies I will never know, but to each their own.
To ask about these puppies or Kitty 4, contact Ray Helms and he will give you the hookup!!
There are others around there as well. This is the Jalapeno Bread that dad gets for breakfast from Forest Fairy Bakery down in Renton. He says it is REALLY good and highly recommends it to anyone that likes a really good bread. They also have a cheesy bread and cookies and other baked goods as well.
Then there were the bagels. Dad is constantly bringing these home and mom promptly eats them all. They are the Seattle Bagel Bakery and they make about 10 different kinds of bagels as well as bagel chips and cream cheese spreads of all kinds. They are made New York style which means they are boiled in lye water before they are baked. This makes them nice and chewy on the inside and crusty on the outside. I’ve been to New York, so I know about good bagels, and these are the real thing!
Then there was the water fountains. These things were loaded with all the children in the world today. They were everywhere yelling and screaming and getting each other wet. I guess it was a nice warm day out. I wouldn’t really know, I spent most of my day hanging out and getting my required 18 hours of sleep a day. But look at them, how can they let their fur get wet like that. It would take me a month to dry out after something like that.
Lastly, I wanted to send our thoughts and prayers out to Tom Teves and his family. Tom was dad’s old boss when he was a chef. Tom’s son was a victim of the Colorado theater shooting, and he died saving his girlfriend’s life.
Tom, our deepest condolences.
He is shown on the news telling Anderson Cooper about his son here.
